Gold requires huge amount of energy in the process of extracting the metal from ore (smelting) and in the process of increasing its purity (refining). Therefore, gold is a material that has an extremely large environmental impact.
By replacing gold with copper or silver as the bonding wire material, it is possible to significantly reduce the environmental impact.

Nippon Micrometal has developed and commercialized palladium coated copper wire "EX" and silver alloy wire "GX". We could contribute to reduce the environmental impact by promoting the replacement of gold wire with palladium coated copper wire and silver alloy wire.
